Integrating Skills in Curriculum
Program Overview
The purpose of the program is to enable teacher-participant develop an understanding on skills-building, employment and entrepreneurship development in higher education. The program introduces participants to skills in designing skill-based courses based on skill gap analysis by mapping local needs and opportunities.
Program Content
The program includes classroom-based sessions along with exposure to Skill Development Center of PAHSU. The sessions are designed in a manner to enable teacher-participants understand the various stapes/stages that need to be followed in designing short-term skill development courses. The topics covered include assessing the market, career aspirations, gaps analysis as also importantly skills in designing courses that create interest along with providing skills related to creation, marketing and publicity.

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University was established in the year 2004. The youngest and smallest university has been mindful of the problem of employability in the district and worked towards establishing ‘Jan Vikas Kendra’. This has now evolved as Skill Development Center that runs number of skill enhancement training programs in the area of traditional, technical, commerce and management, computer, paramedical and agriculture for the UG and PG students as well as for unemployed and aspirants.
