Program Overview

Innovation is the foundation and bedrock of entrepreneurship. New innovations allow entrepreneurs to offer better products or processes to society, a win-win situation for both entrepreneurs and humanity at large. The program focuses entrepreneurial development and cutting-edge technological innovation to create awareness and understanding of establishing entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.  The attempt is to answer questions like what does it mean to protect intellectual property rights while providing incentives to innovators to continue practicing innovation? Can innovation be institutionalised? What skill sets do entrepreneurs require to successfully navigate the rough waters of commercialization and market consolidation? This program sheds light on the journey from I2E.

Program Content

The program is an orientation to the teachers on the framework tools and methodologies required to nurture innovation, entrepreneurial skills and set up technology business incubators based on the analyses of current business trends. It sensitises the participants to upcoming disruptive technologies. The sessions focus on how to identify and foster the unique capabilities of students by promoting creativity and critical thinking to encourage logical decision-making and innovation. The program introduces topics such as national innovation and start-up policy (NISP), intellectual property component at the early stage of innovation, design thinking and innovation, business model canvas (BMC), business plan/prototype competition to invite innovative business models and motivational talks on entrepreneurship and economy.

Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai is one of the premier institutions with a rich history of producing capable, competent and socially aware engineers and entrepreneurs which are contributing to the nation building. Initially, it was set up as University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology through education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing.
