In house program
– centre for inclusion & diversity
Program Overview
The purpose of the programme is to sensitise participants on aspects related to exclusion and its root causes related to society & its affects/implications in higher education. Further, encourage participants to identify/explore possibilities of building an enabling environment for inclusion especially in higher education. We as a society are full of wonderful diversity. We humans vary in terms of so many parameters like sex, region, religion, class, cast, ethnicity, language, culture etc. All these diversities need to be looked at, with great sensitivity, maturity & understanding. So that we would be able to appreciate & accept these diversities. Going to the roots of all this diversity and discrimination is an important step. These diversities also exist in educational space. Inclusion is needed in higher education in order to ensure access to higher education and its resources to every stakeholder. NEP-2020 also has important pointers about inclusive & equitable quality education for all, which we all need to reflect on. Given our society that is so diverse and divided, capacity building is needed in order to realize these sensitive diversities.
In order to sensitize teachers in higher education and encourage them to work towards inclusion and diversity, a six days program is designed as an immersive experience to build capacities of new teachers to work towards a Just, Humane and Inclusive Society.
