Program Overview:

The programme covers a range of performing art – theatre, music and dance as a pedagogy in teaching-learning. It introduces participants to the scope and potential of performance art in building comfort with self, strength of team work and importance of improvisation, “rehearsals”, “riyaz” as way of creative and critical learning. There are three programs with varying focus as part of the collaboration (1) Anamika (2) Madhyama (3) Tarjani

Program Content:

1. Anamika program provides a unique opportunity for any college going student to immerse into the daily activities of Lalit Kala Kendra, Gurukul. As part of the program, the participants get to attend workshops, lectures, demonstrations, film screenings, discussions and performances.

2. Madhyama program is designed exclusively for the teachers in the field of performing art with the objective of enhancing their understanding and skills related to performing art and its pedagogy.

3. Tarjani program invites teachers from all disciplines to experience and appreciate the scope and potential of performing art as a pedagogy in building critical and creative thinking skills amongst students

Knowledge Partner:

Lalit Kala Kendra, Gurukul is one of the prime departments at Pune University offering UG, PG and research courses in Indian Music, Indian Dance and Theatre Art. The department has adopted the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara as a method of teaching.
